As a longtime restaurateur and proud owner of a Mediterranean restaurant, I’ve had the privilege of dining in some incredible places — but 1881 in Port Chester absolutely blew me away.
From the moment we walked in, the experience was exceptional. The ambiance is warm, modern, and thoughtfully designed — a perfect balance of elegance and comfort. I was there with family and friends, and we were all instantly impressed by how beautifully curated every detail of the space was.
But the real star of the night? The food. Without exaggeration, this was one of the best meals I’ve had in years. Every dish was crafted with creativity, care, and an understanding of flavor that’s rare to come by. You can feel the passion behind the menu — it’s bold, refined, and deeply satisfying.
Service was attentive yet relaxed, striking just the right balance. You could tell the team behind 1881 takes pride in delivering not just a meal, but a truly memorable experience.
I left inspired and already looking forward to my next visit. 1881 is a gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough to anyone who loves great food, great company, and an atmosphere that makes you feel both special and at home. Bravo to the team — you’ve set a new bar.

Absolutely incredible experience at 1881 Kitchen Table! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is stunning—modern yet warm, with a unique historic charm that really sets it apart. The open kitchen and wood-fired oven add such a cool, lively touch to the space.
The food was outstanding. Every dish was packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and clearly made with care. You can tell there’s a lot of creativity behind the menu, with a great mix of Mediterranean-inspired options and perfectly cooked steaks. The cocktails were just as impressive—creative, balanced, and delicious.
Service was top-tier as well—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. The staff made the whole experience feel special.
Whether you’re going for a date night, dinner with friends, or just want to try somewhere new, this place is 100% worth it. Easily one of the best dining spots in Port Chester—I’ll definitely be coming back!

We went to this restaurant yesterday and it was really good. The service and hospitality was amazing! All the dishes had flavor and were so well presented. The owner Mr Udy is the most friendly and tries to accommodate you and personally supervises in the kitchen. He will take care of you very well. He is a pastry chef. His desserts are must try. I will definitely go again and it is a must go restaurant. I am a vegetarian but my husband took chicken with chimichurri and he said it was really good. Right from manager , to the servers are very hospitable.

I have to write this review for this place because it’s one of the best restaurants I’ve been to with the best service ever and I just stumbled upon it randomly today with my brother and friend. No reservations so we sat at the bar but immediately the bartender was so nice to us and we had a great Convo, we ended up meeting the actual owner of the restaurant and she was explaining how her and her husband put a lot of work in love into the restaurant, you can definitely tell. She was such a sweet lady and I think the highlight of my evening was talking to her. But let’s get into the food. I go out to eat often, at least twice a week and this place had the best octopus I’ve ever had in my entire life. You cannot go wrong with getting the fresh bread and dips as an appetizer, and the salmon was amazing cooked perfectly. But the absolute highlights of our meal was the dessert, the homemade cheesecake and the silan sundae. The silan sundae was out of this world, I’ve never had anything like it. Highly highly highly recommend this place, don’t worry if you can’t get a reservation just come and sit at the bar when they first open.

New Favorite Spot!! Amazing food, atmosphere, staff and Cocktails!! Their Open Kitchen is Incredible and very rare to see around here as well as the owner, Jen, was so pleasant, it was refreshing! The ambiance was tastefully decorated with such attention to fine details, just beautiful. Most food items on their menu are cooked in their beautiful, enormous Brick Oven which I absolutely LOVE and each item we ordered tasted delicious. Everything was perfectly seasoned, not too much or too little! We will become regular customers for sure!

Came for a quick pizza before a show at the Capitol Theatre. Will be coming back for a proper meal under no time constraints. But I must say the artichokes were phenomenal, out of this world. I've told everyone about these artichokes. If you're an artichoke fan you must order them. Service was fantastic, Joey was our server & he was friendly & professional. We can't wait to come back with friends.

Such a cool vibe restaurant. Low light and fun conversations with friends. Had some plates to share such as the shishito peppers. Had the mod-Tini and love at first sight cocktails. Everything was delicious. Yocely makes the best drinks!

Glad to finally try this place. The food was delicious, the drinks were also great and service was good. We had one grumpy waitress but other than her everyone else was very friendly. Atmosphere was lively yet noise levels were good - we were a group of four and could carry a conversation easily. Definitely recommend to friends. The mezze starter is a must! The gambas in garlic oil was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The lamb kebab was juicy and flavorful.

This restaurant was recommended by foodie friends, who only go to the best! The minute we walked in, the ambiance, decor and feeling was a sign that this was a different restaurant. We were welcomed by the manager David that immediately made us feel like regulars. Our waitress Larissa was wonderful. The menu is so exotic, we were so impressed. A Mediterranean restaurant with such a different array of foods. We ordered the Eggplant Mezze Bowl that just blew us away. An incredible bread baked on premises with so many different little hummus dishes. So delicious! I’m glad we got curious and just ordered a Neapolitan pizza that was so perfectly cooked. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other beautiful dishes! Try it, you will love it!
